Our first tournament as Firebird Elite was in Bettendorf, Iowa. Our team was stacked full of studs who were ready to wrestle and have fun. The parents were amazing too as everyone got along well and spent time together. This was truly an amazing experience with our wrestling family. We met up, some for the first time, others from previous events. It’s so great to see how everyone just comes together.
The following day everyone warmed up together for individuals. It‘a amazing to see how well everyone worked together.
The day was amazing as our team placed 1st in individuals! We had eight who placed 1st, five in 2nd, one in 3rd and one in 4th. This is an amazing accomplishment for this being our 1st team event! As excited as they were for each medal and belt, they were on cloud 9 for the giant eagle trophy!!
That evening the team relaxed in the pool and hottub prior to meeting for dinner, arcade games and laser tag. It was such a joyous evening with lots of time to bond and grow as a wrestling family. For laser tag it was entertaining to see the wrestlers do a wrestle-off to determine what team to be on. It was a sight to see!
