Nick Simmons “EL Strangler” Camp

Updated: Oct 26, 2021

We hosted a camp at the new facility of Texas Elite in Azle, TX. The facility wasn’t fully complete but still provided a great facility to host the camp. It will be absolutely amazing once it is fully completed. This will be one of the best outfitted wrestling training facilities in the country! We were so excited to host Coach Nick Simmons, all the way from Michigan. He did an amazing job, teaching the wrestlers much needed advanced technique. He was such an absolute pleasure to work with, as his professionalism is second to none! He was amazing with the wrestlers and very successful at breaking down advanced technique into a way that even a 5 year older could pick up.

For those who did not know who he was or why he was nicknamed the “EL Strangler”, they quickly learned at this camp:)

We are excited to work with Nick in the future, welcome to the Firebird Family! Our social hour was a success as families had the opportunity to socialize and build friendships. We provided pizza, beer/wine for the adults and sodas/water/Gatorade for the wrestlers. It’s always great to see people connect.

We, also, had a guest speaker, Tanner Sewell who spoke to the parents about college recruiting. Excellent information for wrestlers who were in the 8th grade or above.

A very special “Thank You” to our 52 campers and their families! We vow to you that Firebird will only promote value added training, if you see our name on the flyer - we are putting our reputation on the line!
